An excerpt from Growth (Ki Teitzei, September 1, 2001)
So in what is possibly the most disturbing passage within Ki Teitzei, a law that allows parents to have their own son killed, we in fact have the makings of the most critical ingredient in this listing of the laws: the ability to continue to grow as human beings and as a people, so we can further refine the moral code to fit what we hope is an ever more sophisticated understanding of what and how we ought to be.
